Frosty Trail Maintenance – July 29, 2023

An energetic group engaged in several hours of trail maintenance on the Skyline I trail, between Strawberry Flats and the connector with Skyline II. The trail was already in pretty good shape, and now it’s in excellent shape. What a beautiful trail awaits the runners in the back portion of the 50k Frosty Mountain Ultra. The rest of the trail is in great shape as well, awaiting all the runners in September!

Tenderfoot Boogie 2023

Thirty-three runners had a great time running or hiking the trails for the re-incarnated Tenderfoot Boogie on June 24th, honouring the legacy of founder Gottfried Grosser. Hosted by Club Fat Ass, the start and finish were at Cal-Cheak recreation site. Distances were 15, 28, and 50k, with a few custom distances done by a few. We had a bit of rain, but most agreed it was pleasantly cooling rather than uncomfortable. Trains, bears, flowers, waterfalls, bridges, mountains, rivers, pastries, adventure, runnable trails, a few wrong turns, and friendly fellow runners were all noted as defining the route.

Tenderfoot Boogie Orientation Run

The Tenderfoot Orientation run was held on a hot sunny day, May 14, 2023. Starting and ending at Cal-Cheak recreation area, highlights were Brandywine Falls, the Train Wreck, the Callaghan and Cheakamus rivers, and a couple of suspension bridge crossings. We had a mix of very non-technical trail and technical trails, we all saw beautiful scenery, we all got hot, and there was one bear sighting (that quickly scrambled away).
